Important Aerobic Machines to Know

Many of us love to exercise outside, and often that is convenient and possible, but not always. It may be cold, raining, dark, or otherwise not ideal, and there are lots of different fitness machines at gyms and health clubs you can use. Here are three you should be familiar with.

The Treadmill. Treadmills are great because almost anyone can use them and you can have an easy workout or a very intense one. For starters, most people can walk, and walking on a tread mill is self explanatory. You can also adjust the angle so you are walking uphill. Of course, you can also have a run ranging from an easy jog to an intense sprint. The display is great as it can tell you exactly how far you've run or walked and also how fast you are going. It always amazes me how the same speed run will feel very fast and difficult some days yet slow and easy others! The display helps keep you honest, something that may be more difficult when walking or running outside.

The Stationary Bike. Stationary exercise bikes are nice for many reasons, one being that you get to sit down and still exercise, something to think about after a long day of work or play. They come in different varieties, which are basically recline models or upright models. An upright one is just like a normal bike except that of course you are not moving. With a recline bike, you normally sit down lower and your legs and feet are in front of you. One of the things I love about exercise bikes is that I find it easier to read on one as compared to other exercise machines.

The Rowing Machine. Rowing Machines are not for the weak of mind as they deliver an intense full body workout. They are lesser known and used than other machines but most gyms have one or more. Some of my most intense workouts have been on rowing machines, but I'll admit I need to be psyched to get on one because I always seem to go all out on them,

So which is best? Do I have a favorite? I typically alternate my machines. For example I've been using the treadmill the last few weeks but will eventually bore with it and move on to another machine. Some people like to use a different machine every workout. They give you a great workout, so there is no overall best; although it's fine if you prefer one over the others.
